About
We are 'Uminokaze' and a manufacturing group created by the third generation of craftsmen in Kobe.
Our members are all passionate about Kobe and manufacturing, regardless of industry.
We overcame the Great Hanshin Earthquake 30 years ago and continue to manufacture in Kobe.
We work with the desire to bring new, interesting and exciting things from Kobe to the world.
Our Team
Founded in 1933, we have been an embroidery shop ever since. We are an embroidery shop that weaves relationships and smiles for our customers.
In addition to accepting orders for direct embroidery, patches, names, etc., even for just one piece, we also produce and sell our original Connect™, embroidered tin badges, button charms, etc.
Previously, we handled a wide range of products, including Kobe children's clothing, high-end women's clothing, and embroidery for the Imperial family, but after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, we began to focus on orders from individuals.
Currently, we receive many orders online, and we are seeing more and more smiles from our customers.
Founded in 1927 (Showa 2), this glass shop is located in Nagata Ward, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture.
When the company was founded, the main business was installing glass on wooden fittings and furniture.
During the period of high economic growth after the war, the company jumped on the bandwagon of the times when detached houses were being built one after another, and was one of the first to introduce aluminum sashes. As aluminum fittings and doors were produced one after another, various types of glass also began to be produced.
After going through the turbulent Showa and Heisei eras, the company now handles the aforementioned Showa-style plate glass plates and lighting (lampshades), as well as all types of architectural plate glass, stained glass, and decorative glass from overseas.
Since its founding in 1948, the company has focused on manufacturing marine engine parts, and has supported manufacturing in Kobe, home to a concentration of global heavy machinery manufacturers, with specialized welding techniques that require specialized skills, such as gas welding of castings and electric welding of Hokin.
Although we are a small company, we pride ourselves on being able to respond flexibly and quickly to customer requests, thanks to the technology and experience we have cultivated over the years, as well as connections with various companies involved in metal processing, such as machining and casting.
In recent years, as our circle of interactions with people from different industries has expanded, we have begun to explore the possibilities of "welding (metal processing)" from new perspectives and to take on the challenge of creating exciting new products.
This is an apparel brand shop where you can see the workshop from inside the store.
The clothes, shoes, and leather accessories displayed in the store are all designed, patterned, and sewn from scratch in our workshop.
We use natural materials such as hemp and cotton for our clothing, and strive to make "clothes that are comfortable to wear." We also make custom-made products.
In 1959, Tsutomu Tanaka, who was in charge of selling sewing machines at a company that handled shoemaking machines, decided to go independent and founded Tanaka Sewing Machine Co., Ltd.
Kunitoshi Tanaka, who took over the business, expanded into online sales in 2005, selling a variety of industrial sewing machines. In recent years, with Sho Tanaka as the main person in charge, the company has also been able to make custom attachments for a variety of uses. For three generations, the company has supported sewing factories and local industries throughout Japan as a rare sewing machine sales and maintenance company specializing in professional use for business owners.
In this age where photo editing and making things look good are commonplace, we chose the name "RAW" (as it is) from our desire to "preserve the natural charm in a tangible form." Our passionate staff will bring you a series that will overturn the conventional wisdom of photography and video, and with the motto of having more fun than anyone else!
We provide a wide range of services to both individuals and companies, from commemorative photo shoots, to holding photo events in various locations, photographing store images, and producing product explanation videos and promotional videos.
I am in charge of various designs for various companies, planning, and marketing using social media.
I don't just focus on completing individual works or projects, but also on finding and executing what really needs to be done to achieve the more essential results that my clients and their customers desire.
"Ça ira" - "It'll be fine, everything will work out!" With this sentiment in mind,
we support people involved in regional development, revitalization of shrines, and manufacturing. We are involved
in a wide range of activities, including chalk art signboard production, new product development support, workshop planning and support, and corporate PR activities (evangelist).
I would be happy if my support can help "someone's something go well."
The sea breeze continues to move forward with the support of many different people.
The thoughts behind the logo
'Uminokaze' refers to the gathering of manufacturers in the coastal in Kobe who work on manufacturing while feeling the big, refreshing breeze from the ocean.
"Perfect circles," "straight lines," and "warping" are basic shapes in manufacturing, such as drilling holes, scraping, cutting, heating, sewing, etc. By the creator continuing to face these successive processes, a "thing" will eventually be born from the blueprint.
Each manufacturing site has its own human wisdom and ingenuity. The flow of these will create a better "wind of creation."

We will organize a tour that will take you to factories in Kobe that are normally off-limits, and allow you to listen to explanations from the factory craftsmen.

Achievements
Three Kobe-based manufacturing businesses will set up booths in a special venue in the lobby with the theme of "Valentine's Day." In addition to the experience of making original "oshikatsu" items using professional equipment and tools, you can also enjoy the experience of making things related to "nuikatsu," which involves enjoying daily life with stuffed toys based on your favorite idol. In addition, we plan to sell original goods with the theme of "oshikatsu."
シネマ・de・推し工房We were introduced to "Cinema de Oshi Kobo," a workshop where participants can try their hand at making goods to support their favorite idols, anime characters, etc.
神戸新聞NEXTThis is a comprehensive BtoB exhibition that aims to develop new sales channels by bringing together companies from within Tokyo that have unique technologies or rare products, as well as companies from outside Tokyo that are aiming to expand their sales channels into the greater Tokyo area, to promote their products and services to visitors.
Business Chance EXPO in TOKYO
An event was held at the Kobe Yoko Co., Ltd. premises, sponsored by Uminokaze.
Many customers came to the event and enjoyed the workshops of each company.
In the evening, a live event was also held at the factory.
The setting for this event is Nagata Ward, Kobe City, a city of manufacturing.
A new experience started by Uminokaze, a manufacturing group formed by the third generation of local factories, is now attracting attention.
It's a tour of four local factories!
You can see up close the various manufacturing sites, including welding, embroidery, apparel, and glass! What is the secret plan devised by the third generation of local factories, which are suffering from a labor shortage, to let the younger generation know the appeal of manufacturing?
The Hyogo Field Pavilion is an initiative that, taking advantage of the Expo, treats the whole of Hyogo as one large pavilion, promotes the appeal of the "activity sites themselves" throughout the prefecture, and invites many people to see, learn, and experience, with 230 programs currently on offer. An event where people could experience the Hyogo Field Pavilion all at once was held at Kobe Harborland for two days on October 12th (Sat) and 13th (Sun), six months before the Expo begins.
Hyogo Field Pavilion"Oshikatsu" Workshop at Kobe Movie Theater A collaborative workshop with local manufacturing companies, "Cinema de Oshi Kobo," will be held on July 27th and 28th in the lobby of the OS Cinemas Kobe Harborland movie theater (1 Higashikawasakicho, Chuo-ku, Kobe).
Kobe Economic NewspaperIt has been decided that "Cinema de Oshi Kobo" will be held on July 27th (Sat) and 28th (Sun)! This time, it will be a collaboration with a local Kobe local factory! At this event, four Kobe local factories will exhibit booths, and they will be offering a hands-on experience of making things related to "Oshikatsu" using authentic equipment and tools, as well as selling original goods.
It seems that "Cinema de Oshi Kobo" will be held at the Umie movie theater. Four Kobe manufacturing companies will hold workshops and sell goods with the theme of "Oshikatsu".
Kobe JournalStarting from Sunday, June 30th, capsule toys presented by Umikaze have been placed in the store, courtesy of the Agro Garden Komagabayashi Home Center. The promotional video is also being shown on the display, which is sure to catch your eye.
Agro Garden Kobe Komagabayashi storeAfter being reviewed by a certification committee of experts, Uminokaze was "certified" as an SDGs experience-based program that will be part of the Hyogo Field Pavilion.
Hyogo Field PavilionFive managers of small factories in Nagata and Suma Kobe City have launched a town development group called "Uminokaze." The products they make in their factories are all different, including embroidery, ship parts, and glass, but they are all connected by the common thread of being the third generation of their family businesses. They plan to hold factory tours and other events to promote the appeal of the area and small factories. (Ishikawa Midori)
Kobe Shimbun NEXTThe factory tour on April 11th was very well received. Each factory carefully explained their work and history from their own perspective, and the tour participants asked enthusiastic questions, so the time passed quickly. "I often come to the Nagata area, but I've never had the opportunity to visit a manufacturing company while listening to their stories, so I'm glad I participated," said the representative of the professional services.
